Sep. 26, 1964 - Oct. 21, 1998
While driving from Corpus Christi, Texas, to South Padre Island on Oct. 21, 1998, Scott Brower's car was hit by an oncoming vehicle driven by Jose Luis Flores, who had just left a local bar. The oncoming car had been going the wrong way on a one-way lane, and had driven over the JFK Bridge before veering to the wrong side of a barricade separating the northbound and southbound lanes. Although Brower swerved to avoid an accident, Flores' vehicle nevertheless struck him head on, killing him on impact. Flores died one hour later after being taken to the hospital. Flores' blood alcohol level at the time of his death was 0.13, well over the Texas legal limit. A woman traveling in Brower's car and a man traveling with Flores were also injured in the accident but not killed.

A memorial page has been set up by Scott's brother at http://www3.telus.net/public/browerd/Scottsweb/scottspage.htm
